Family Day with KooKoo the Cartoon Magician

On Sunday, October 10, 2021, we celebrated Family Day (formerly Rally Day) with a topical sermon by Pastor John, a Wawa hoagie box-lunch and a rollicking performance by KooKoo the Cartoon Magician! KooKoo has performed for us in the past as the host of KooKoo’s Clubhouse, a series of four videos for children designed to give them activities and entertainment during the summer of 2020 when we were all confined to our homes by Covid. He has also performed at several family birthday parties.

On this occasion, standing on a chair to reach Pastor John’s height, KooKoo produced coins of all sizes from John’s hair, ears, and nose. The children assembled up front got a ringside view as KooKoo produced a huge fish out of a small tackle box, a giant straw from a lunch bag and bunnies out of their very own hands! On his departure, KooKoo gave a special message to one of the children who was too sick to come out and then he drove off in his new purple, bubble-powered (“As you know, it’s a hybrid”), ACME rocket-bearing station wagon.
