Backpack Drive for the Children of the Workers at Parx Race Track

Thanks for your help in past years giving these kids what they need for school in the fall. This year, we are trying something new for our “Back Pack Drive.” We have created a wish list on Amazon under “Great Valley Baptist,” “Back Pack Gift List.” We have listed the items Rev. Rick Bunker identified as important to the youth he serves at Parx Racetrack. We have also created a wish list at Walmart.com under the same name but from Walmart, we are asking for $25 gift cards.

We are collecting school supplies and backpacks and will pack 25 17” heavy-duty backpacks for middle school and high school students. The collection process is underway. In mid-August, we will pack and deliver everything to the Mission Center at the track. Any leftover items are kept at the Mission Center for youth who need them during the year. We always include a $25 gift certificate to Walmart in each pack so parents can purchase anything additional the kids need for school.
